Scientists in Schools

The Ogden Trust sponsors a limited number of postgraduate, PhD and post-doctoral students wishing to become physics teachers if recommended by an Ogden Outreach Officer. These vary in terms of length of commitment and are available for up to 40 working days in secondary schools.

The maximum grant available is £2,500 based on a rate of £62.50 per day. The placements can be carried out full-time or on a part-time basis while research or other work is still being undertaken; travel expenses are normally available.

Applicants must be entering physics teacher training in the academic year that follows the Fellowship, and intend to teach in the UK state secondary school system.
