Why should we support experienced physics teachers?
Ongoing professional learning and development can help sustain, retain and enthuse experienced physics teachers, cultivating their subject leadership and building on their expertise within the classroom. Continued investment in experienced physics teachers will help strengthen subject capacity in schools and across the sector, ensuring today’s young people can access high-quality physics education that equips them for the future.
Each year we offer:
- Inspirational experiences and visits, accessing cutting-edge physics and learning how to bring that learning into the classroom.
- Professional development opportunities to support teachers to become lead practitioners or physics teacher developers, or to complete physics education research.
- Support for teachers to convene and lead local communities of physics practice, sharing expertise and building networks.
You cannot be a community champion if you are taking part in the Lead Practitioner or Physics Teacher Educator programmes.
