CERN funding

Funding towards partnership trips to CERN is no longer available.

We are refocusing our funding so we can invest more in the provision of free professional development support for all teachers of physics in England. Confident and committed teachers in the classroom can deliver high quality physics teaching, reaching more young people and influencing their decisions to take physics further.

Our funding towards school visits to CERN has supported some inspirational trips which we hope have enhanced and enriched students’ understanding and appreciation of physics, but the reach of these experiences is always constrained by the number of schools able to organise a trip abroad and the limited number of places that can be made available.
