Manufacturing Risk Assessment
JDR Cables
Dynamic Risk Assessment in Manufacturing
What is the project:
The aim of this project is to explore how dynamic risk assessments are developed and applied across different manufacturing processes within JDR’s new high-voltage subsea cable manufacturing facility.
The intern will investigate how hazards are identified, evaluated, and controlled in real-time production environments. They will examine how risk levels can change depending on machinery use, materials, personnel, and environmental factors.
How this project is useful:
Manufacturing of high-voltage cables involves complex processes, machinery and materials. Understanding the risks involved ensures a proactive, preventative safety culture. The intern will contribute to reviewing or mapping selected processes and identifying how risk controls are implemented and monitored.
Project outcome:
- Written report providing a structured overview of their findings, control measures, and area of improvement
- Present findings in a presentation
Project type:
Practical Investigation
Key skills:
- Data analysis
- Research
- Process mapping
- Observation
