Improving the accuracy of estimating construction costs

Improving the accuracy of estimating construction costs

Engineering companies like Tri-tech Contracting cannot continue building energy infrastructure if they can’t accurately work out how much each project is going to cost.

Aims:

The aim of the project is to research the costs of infrastructure projects. You will then use your findings to design and create a bespoke cost database. The process will involve sourcing and comparing current costs from local and national suppliers and submitting the data into a functional, quick to use new system. Which will need to be easily accessible to help our team estimate material costs, labour, and other project expenses to speed up our back-office processes.

To do this you will:

With the support of the management team, you will learn about our pre-existing cost database. You will also learn about current construction processes including: relationship building, estimating costs and how construction companies apply to work on projects (“tendering”).
