Northumberland County Council
Analyse how Northumberland County Council staff travel and suggest ways to make this more environmentally friendly
Reducing Carbon Emissions from Travelling
Northumberland County Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has an ambition for the county of Northumberland to be net-zero by 2040.
The aim of this project is to build an understanding of how staff travel. The intern should consider both commuting to and from work, as well as trips on council business. In addition, the intern should investigate ways to reduce the council’s carbon footprint by suggesting more environmentally friendly ways for staff to travel.
The intern will present their findings and suggestions in a report, including details of the decisions they made during their project and the motivation behind them.
This is a team project.
