Practical Test for Apprenticeship Interviews
During interviews for apprenticeship positions, Draeger gives candidates several tests. These include technical drawing interpretation, wiring diagrams, relay logic, light circuits and knowledge of wiring plugs.
The interns will create one or more new practical tests to be conducted at apprenticeship interviews. These would include components such as circuit boards, relay switches, or lighting circuits set up as they would be in a real life working scenario. Suitable solutions should be individually planned and fully quoted as well as a budget requirement pitched and then agreed upon with the project sponsor and other key people. With the help of different members in the department this can then be designed further using technical drawings and built within the workshop, ensuring it adheres to quality standards. The interns will also provide a scoring matrix to judge the success of each interview candidate based off parameters they believe fulfil completion of their test.
The interns will keep a log of the process, including documenting any issues that were encountered and overcome. At the end of the project, a review will be held to finally showcase the hard work demonstrated by the resource.
