PPI Engineering
The aim of this project is to update the CAD drawings from an obsolete drawing system to SolidWorks.
CAD File Conversion
Since 2008 we have been using Creo software for Computer Aided Design (CAD) purposes. Last year, we made the switch to using SolidWorks; as with all businesses, if you aren’t using the latest technology you will get left behind. As PPI Engineering supports some obsolescent equipment, we still need the designs made with Creo to either remanufacture or update old designs.
This project will involve working with the design office manager and other programmers to write a macro to batch convert the files from Creo’s MI format to SolidWorks’ DWG format.
You will be writing the program and macro, then testing it in a real-world application before presenting it to the company. The program you write could be used in future projects by PPI since we operate in an industry that is constantly evolving and a similar process may need to be done again in the future.
