Peak Processing

See the operations of three departments and create a storyboard to illustrate the skills they use.

Creating a Graphic Storyboard of the Seismic Industry

Peak Processing provide ‘back office’ support to a significant number of well-known geophysical survey contractors on major energy projects. In summary, we are a flexible and expert multi-disciplinary team of experienced data processors, geohazard specialists, processing surveyors and support staff providing a range of services and consultancy delivered through our three key departments: Data Management, Seismic Processing, and Seismic Interpretation.

Our staff are all technically experienced, capable, and competent. However, we recognise that as part of our forward responsibility and strategy we must help to develop, train, and grow the talent pipeline who will be the future of our business. Our output is complex and technical, but every journey begins with a single step. This project will describe and excite our future workforce at an entry level.

The intern for this project will sit in each department for one week to understand the basic tasks and technical skills required and consider how they all work seamlessly together. The fourth week will focus on bringing this information together into a compelling storyboard, considering how college studies including the sciences, data management and engineering studies could lead into possible employment. This will be useful for our staff to use when discussing possible future careers with young people at careers fairs and to provide as a resource for those tasked with having to guide and advise our next generation.

Host company information

Peak Processing was founded in 2010 as a dedicated Seismic Data Processing company focussing on providing marine seismic data processing services to survey contractors. Based out of office facilities in East Anglia in the United Kingdom, early services were focussed on provision of Promax R5000 systems and operators to work onboard client’s acquisition vessels and subsequent shore based processing of the data acquired. Over the past four years, in line with a general shift in the market, our work has moved from being predominantly Oil & Gas, to predominantly offshore renewables based.
