Project Database in Sharepoint

Next Geosolutions recently hosted an industrial year placement to collate structured information about their wide range of marine energy development projects i.e. the NextGeo project database.

The proposal now is to move the information into a Sharepoint location so that it can be accessed and modified as necessary by both the Commercial and Operational teams, both dispersed across multinational locations.

The aims of this project are to build a data structure in SharePoint (using database theory), assigning security to the database to protect the information, how to clean and organise data, and how the database could develop in the future.

During this project, you will learn about database theory, security models, data structuring and authentication, and data entry and cleaning. You will liaise with members of the Commercial, Operations (project management) and Reporting teams about the data contained in the database, and future use and data input.
