CHPV Offshore Film and Photography

Evaluate how CHPV Offshore could apply risk assessments and method systems more effectively.

Making Offshore Filming and Photography Safer

RAMS (Risk Assessments and Methods Statements) are at the heart of health and safety policies and procedures in the offshore energy industry. They detail how specific activities can be carried out safely — describing control measures and safety precautions and how these can be implemented/what control equipment should be used.

Although they are required by law to be ‘suitable and sufficient’ there is no standard format in which they should be presented.  Different companies have different requirements. CHPV is proud of its unblemished safety record in over 59 years of its existence, but is cognisant that its procedures can always be improved, whether onshore, offshore or drone flying.

For this project, you will conduct an audit of the way we present our RAMS. It will involve talking to some major clients to learn what they require of us, and where possible joining us on location to appreciate practical problems we may encounter. The desired outcome is more lucid documentation and improved safety procedures.
