Purposeful Physics Enrichment Evidence Review
A review and recommendations for purposeful physics enrichment.
One of our five key objectives for 2026-2031 is to increase access to purposeful enrichment opportunities showcasing physics pathways for young people. In delivering this objective, we will curate and facilitate physics enrichment opportunities that are meaningful, sustainable and impactful.
To inform our work in this area, we commissioned this literature review of physics enrichment. It looks at different enrichment delivery styles, with a focused-lens on how particular enrichment activities impact on pupils in areas of disadvantage. The review synthesises UK evidence on physics-related enrichment for school-aged students and presents a series of key recommendations for schools, funders and policy makers.
These recommendations will help shape our provision, as we begin to curate a collection of evidence-informed enrichment resources which will give teachers the tools they need to deliver purposeful enrichment provision.
