A skills framework to support OPE leaders to identify their professional growth priorities.
The wide-ranging pressures on university departments mean that outreach and public engagement (OPE) leadership and management roles can be complex. Leadership, management, and delivery all require different but complementary skills, and ongoing professional development for those in leadership roles is key to building greater OPE impact.
The Trust has developed this skills framework for leadership and management in OPE. We will be providing a portfolio of professional development opportunities in line with this framework, and we hope the programmes on offer will ensure better support and positive cultures that will enable OPE professionals to deliver outcomes for their department.
The framework is not a performance tool and must not be used to assess performance. It is designed to be used by individuals to help them reflect, and to identify their own professional growth priorities.
