Insights and experiences of school physics

Insights and experiences of school physics shares the results of a small-scale survey looking at the attitudes of current undergraduates.

We recently commissioned a small-scale survey to look at the attitudes of current undergraduates. We wanted to get an insight into their experiences of physics teaching at school and wanted to try and understand why young people chose not to study physics after the age of 16. This report builds on significant longitudinal studies that have researched young peoples’ attitudes to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and we hope that our snapshot will provide some further food for thought as we consider how we can best support the teaching and learning of physics going forward.
