NUSTEM (formerly Think Physics) has teamed up with Alom Shaha, physics teacher, writer and film-maker, and Christina Astin to produce a series of films to support teachers and students with A-level physics practicals. In association with educational charity Physics Partners, and with financial and editorial input from The Ogden Trust, four films were created. The films have been widely used and recommended by teachers and students have found the videos to be useful revision tools. NUSTEM and Alom have since made another three films which are also available on the website; more films are in the pipeline.
Ogden Teacher Fellow and Regional Representative, Devinder Gill (Head of Physics, Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton) has watched the films: “They are very informative and useful for teachers in all stages of their career from ITTs & NQTs to experienced Heads of Department. They are particularly useful for providing alternative methods for performing the required practicals such as using Newton's g-ball for measuring the acceleration due to gravity.”
