Last month, Jackie Flaherty (ESERO-UK Space Ambassador, Director of STEM at Chipping Campden School and the Ogden Trust National Teaching & Learning Lead) spoke to STEM Learning UK about her experience of setting up a STEM club and the journey the club has been on over the last six years.
The school currently has 10 sixth form student ambassadors who are leading the STEM club, which now includes a primary space club for Key Stage 2 pupils and a moon-gazing club. Funding from the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers has allowed the school to buy some binoculars for astronomy activities and some telescope kits. Jackie is now working to include more pupils, teachers and parents in their activities.
