Science Talk

17 January 2018

This week, Primary Partnership Manager, Kirstin Greygoose visited Dobcroft Infant School in Sheffield to deliver the Ogden EYFS CPD – Science Talk.

“What an exciting day...16 enthusiastic primary and EYFS teachers and teaching assistants attended the training in Sheffield (despite the snow) to develop ideas for supporting communication and language development through science in the early years,” explained Kirstin.

"It was a privilege to work alongside a group of such enthusiastic practitioners - the air had a buzz of excitement all day."

As well as delving into current research on children's early language development, the delegates also turned their hand to some Rube Goldberg machines in the afternoon, with plastic frogs being catapulted skywards.

Science Talk, was developed by Kirstin and training has already been delivered to over 234 teachers and teaching assistants across the country since February 2017. The resources boxes that accompany the training are being used in over 206 schools and settings.
