Welcome to our latest edition of Phiz e-news, featuring our forces resources! We collaborated with physicist and mountaineer Dr Melanie Windridge as she set out on an expedition to climb Mount Everest and now bring you two 'Slippy Shoes' primary investigations into friction. We also have a host of other forces resources on our website and will be delivering our Phizzi Forces partnership CPD over this coming academic year.
Not part of a partnership? Applications for new partnerships are open now.
Phiz e-news also includes lots of Phiz eFlags highlighting initiatives, activities and grants to make physics matter in primary schools.

Phiz e-news is brought to you by our primary experts, bringing together the latest primary news, ideas and opportunities in the physical sciences. It is specifically compiled for primary practitioners though secondary teachers and HE colleagues may also be interested in some of the articles.
Over the year, we will feature ideas for EYFS, KS1 and KS2; interviews with scientists, teachers, researchers and people who are using physics in their careers. We will bring you regular news about events and activities from across our network of Phiz Labs – dedicated science spaces in primary schools – and primary partnerships. We will also share developments and opportunities from our growing primary CPD programme, including our Primary Physics Professional Learning (P3L) days.
“We work with a network of expert practitioners in primary science, and have partnerships and Phiz Labs across the UK,” says Programme Manager, Kirstin Greygoose. “We hope that by sharing news, ideas, resources and expertise through Phiz e-news we can support even more primary teachers to confidently deliver practical, engaging science.”
