On Tuesday 5 June, The Ogden Trust is running a full-day CPD event for science practitioners, exploring the key curriculum topic of Earth & Space. The event is most suitable for science subject leaders and Key Stage 2 teachers. It has been designed to improve scientific knowledge and understanding; to help teachers to develop and assess skills in working scientifically; and to give hands-on practical experience of investigations that can be easily shared back in school.
Delegates will spend the morning improving their understanding of the physics of the Earth & Space topic up to GCSE level and looking at practical strategies to embed working scientifically in science lessons throughout the primary curriculum.
Each delegate will go away with a resource box (worth £300) containing class sets of the science equipment needed for 10 practical investigations covering KS1 and KS2 and a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide. The afternoon will be spent carrying out these investigations to develop delegates’ skill and confidence in running experiments with a class.
The event is being held at Abingdon School and costs £249. Register online now.
