The Leeds & Harrogate Partnership is now in its second year of operation and is already one of the larger partnerships with 12 member schools. This year saw a range of activities, including CPD sessions and the annual Space Day workshop for Year 9s. The partnership also held its inaugural lecture utilising an alumnus of one of our schools, and ex-CERN employee, Dr Sam Gregson. Sam has continued to work in some of the schools following this. The highlight of the year has to be a Year 9 seismology workshop held at Fulneck School which included a competition to win a brand new plug-and-play TC1 seismometer. Plans for 2016 include a trip to the Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall, attending the regional Big Bang! Fair and further workshops and lectures spread across all the schools in the partnership.
