Jackie Flaherty

Regional Representative in Primary Science, Oxford / Gloucestershire

Jackie Flaherty is the Primary Regional Representative for Oxford / Gloucestershire. She is also Head of Physics at Chipping Campden School which is the hub school for the Cotswold Primary and Secondary Clusters. The school has a Phiz Lab to provide physics enrichment for primary pupils and an extensive CPD programme for primary teachers. Jackie is currently developing resources for the Trust’s National Primary CPD programme. Sixth form outreach is well developed in this cluster with students training as Space Ambassadors for the Bradford University Robotic Telescope programme and also delivering after school science clubs as part of the BSA CREST Awards scheme. The British Science Association are piloting a scheme with Chipping Campden students to develop the science club to Gold Award level. She works closely with universities to develop physics enrichment activities and is involved in the promotion of STEM subjects through links with a variety of business partners.
