Pete Dowsett

Consultant in Primary Science

Pete has taught physics and technology at all levels in four schools in the East Midlands, including 20 years as Head of Science at Trinity School, Nottingham. In 2010, he was awarded the SHAP Teacher Prize for outstanding contribution to the teaching of The Salters Horners Advanced Physics Course.

Having retired from the Head of Science position at Trinity, Pete taught half- timetable for three years at Trinity School where he has developed a series of modules on fundamental physics topics for its five main feeder primary schools. He also supports the development of activities in the Nottingham Partnership of which Trinity is the hub school. This year (January 2016), he has set up the Nottingham Primary Partnership which is a group of seven primaries with a very full programme for the rest of the academic year.
