Science Teaching Fellowships
The Ogden Trust Science Teaching Fellowship scheme was introduced in 2004 at the University of Durham, and has since grown to include the Universities of Leeds, Manchester and Oxford, with plans to expand the scheme further in the near future. The object of the scheme is to give talented PhD students a chance to sample school science teaching part-time while carrying on with their PhDs. The scheme not only provides a chance for students to get a taste for life in the classroom, but also provides valuable support to science teachers and their pupils from young, highly qualified and enthusiastic scientists.
