Ogden Alumni Association
In November 2009, The Ogden Trust appointed Isla Dennis as its first Alumni Relations Officer. Over the coming year, Isla will be organising events, activities and promotions that will be of interest to a wide range of Ogden scholars, past and present.
Improved communications between the Trust office and the alumni will be developed such as a regular newsletter and utilisation of Facebook. Encouraging the use of the alumni online database, webALUMNUS, and understanding its benefits will also be promoted; this will allow Isla to provide a more tailored range of services for our alumni.
Plans in the pipeline include:
- a programme of summer internships at universities and in industry for 2010
- a programme of work placements in schools for June 2010
- a visit to CERN in Switzerland
Did you know, however, that Ogden alumni are eligible to apply for travel grants, worth up to £1500? This scheme is already in place and several students have been able to take part in amazing trips, developing their academic abilities, social & global awareness and personal skills, because of it. You can read their stories and find out whether you might meet the criteria by visiting the Ogden Alumni Members' Area.
The Alumni Members' Area contains a limited access database (called webALUMNUS), which recipients of Ogden scholarships and awards are invited to join. By registering, and keeping your details up-to-date, you will gain access to the full range of services that Isla intends to develop for the benefit of Ogden alumni.
