The Ogden Trust Prize for Early Stage Physics Research
In 2006 The Ogden Trust sponsored The Ogden Trust Early Stage Physics Research Prize, in association with SET (Science Engineering and Technology) for Britain.
Early Stage researchers were invited to submit posters on "leading-edge" research and R&D in UK Physics at a House of Commons reception in November, where judges met the candidates and inspect the posters of the 90 entrants.
The new innovative and unique award of £5,000, and the Cavendish medail, initiated by SET for BRITAIN and the Ogden Trust, was won by Dr O’Brien for his research on quantum metrology which involves using quantum mechanical effects to realise more precise measurements than ever could be achieved classically.

Winner of The 2006 Ogden Prize for Early Stage Physics Research and the Cavendish Medal,
Dr. Jeremy O'Brien
