Ogden Scholar wins 2009 Corti Science Prize
Ben Partridge, a student at Hymers College, has won the
2009 Corti Science Prize for an essay he wrote entitled "Pond Scum - the truly modern fuel". The judges were
unanimous and Ben has received a £2000 cash prize to support him in his
university career. Ben will be studying Chemistry at Lincoln College, Oxford from Autumn 2009.
The Corti Charitable Trust is a charity engaged in promoting science
education in the UK who run an essay competition for
A-Level students who are considering a science or maths-based subject
at university. The competition involves writing a short essay
describing a scientific discovery, and discussing its potential impact
on daily life in the next decade.
