Harry Eakins to represent UK at International Physics Olympiad in Vietnam
Harry Eakins, an Ogden-sponsored student at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Blackburn has been selected as one of the British team of five students to represent the UK in the International Physics Olympiad in Hanoi in July 2008.

The British team to go to the International Physics Olympiad is selected by an elimination process which starts with a one-hour written paper taken by over 10,000 students. Over 1,000 then take Paper 2 from which the top 50 go on to take Paper 3. From these entrants the top 15 students then participate in a three-day training camp held at Abingdon School, after which the top 5 students are selected to join the team to go to the International Physics Olympiad.
The other students in the team are:
Harry Desmond, Abingdon School, Oxfordshire
William Kalderon, St Paul's School London
Peter Townsend, Richard Hale School, Hertford
Michael Lipton, The Manchester Grammar School
