Amazon ‘08

Explore the magnificent Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, the largest protected area of pristine tropical rainforest in Peru as an active member of a research team investigating biodiversity.

Ladakh ‘08

Experience high altitude mountaineering and explore untouched habitats as an active member of a research team for five weeks. Known as the land of the high passes it is one of the most remote regions of the Indian Himalayas.

Svalbard ‘08

Svalbard is a far-flung arctic wilderness on the edge of the Arctic Ocean and one of the most northerly islands in the world just 600 miles from the North Pole. You will be part of a team investigating different aspects of climate change.

*Students will be responsible for funding their own flight to and from the UK, payable directly to the travel agent. The estimated cost to the Amazon and Ladakh is £1,000 and for Svalbard £500.
As an Ogden scholar you will automatically qualify for one of these scholarships if you are accepted on a BSES expedition. Please contact BSES direct if you would like to apply, quoting that you are an Ogden scholar.
