2012 Alumni Intern Programme
Applications are now open for the 2012 alumni summer internship programme. Twenty-one funded internships, some in university physics departments and others in the commercial sector, are available.
Academic internships are on offer at Imperial College, London, and the Universities of Manchester, Durham and Portsmouth, with subjects ranging from biophysics to the cosmos, and Galaxy Zoo to data visualisation. Commercial partners include Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Visionmetric, where interns will work on projects addressing key business issues.
New for 2012 is the opportunity to “Create Your Own Internship”. This is open to alumni who have already found the perfect summer work experience or research project but don’t yet have the money to fund it.
Ogden undergraduates, sixth-form school leavers and alumni at the end of a gap year are eligible to apply for these funded posts. Full details of all the vacancies and how to apply are available via the alumni database: www.ogdentrust.net. You have to be registered to access it so, if you haven't registered yet, do so now!
All internships are subject to suitability and competitive award. The closing date for the advertised vacancies is Friday 9th March; applications for the “Create Your Own Internship” close on Friday 13th April.
