Head of School Partnerships

As the team in London settle into the new office, we are pleased to announce a further development in our staffing. Wendy Cox has now been appointed as Head of School Partnerships. In this new role, she will be overseeing both primary and secondary school partnerships, as well as the associated programmes including Phiz Labs, Primary CPD and trips to CERN.

“Wendy has done an exceptional job in the last three years growing the primary programme from nothing to an extremely successful and thriving network of teachers who all receive fantastic support from the Trust,” says Clare Harvey, Chief Executive.  “We are looking forward to seeing the primary and secondary partnerships grow together, as the share practice and benefit from Wendy’s experience.”

The school partnerships are central to the Ogden programmes. A network of Teacher Fellows, Science Officers and Consultants/Regional Representatives will continue to support Wendy in her new role, as will a growing programme team (we are currently recruiting for a new Programme Officer) based in the London office.

The primary office, based in Birmingham, will continue to lead the primary programme, which will now be more closely aligned with the secondary partnerships. “There is a natural synergy between the primary and secondary programmes; many secondary partnerships already work closely with their local primary schools, by formally linking the two programmes we will be able to truly establish science on the school agenda from EYFS through to A-levels. I am delighted to accept the position of Head of School Partnerships. I aim to develop a partnership model which draws upon elements of the primary programme and my previous experience as a primary and secondary teacher. Teacher CPD and raising students' science capital will be at the heart of the partnerships. With a great team supporting me, I look forward to further developing the successful School Partnership Programme.”
